And here it is, at the end of Santa Claus gift's madness - my toy - the set 8293. In the box from Santa I found motor, battery box, pole switch, lights and a few blocks to assist in the transferring rotary power and transmission gears.

Battery box requires 6 AA bateries. It has a three-position pole switch that can turn on and change rotation direction of motor. The external switch works similary. Motor has a maximum torque rating of 40 mNm, and a maximum speed of 380 RPM (without load). We can pin it to the standard plate or fasten to the holes located around the axis with Technic connectors.

All cables are terminated with contacts that we can connect them like a normal blocks. We can't build anything with block of only this set but only a small amount of an additional Technic blocks reveals features Power Functions. Soon, I will try to present them.

The only thing that worries me is, that this set is recommended for ages 9 - 16 years ;)
